Viva cité a Filmatik documentary for France TV
Filmatik has signed a co-production agreement with Nola Films to make a documentary about Marseille in the South of France.
Synopsis by author Claire Robiche
« When you've tried everything to make yourself heard, the only thing left is humor. »
La Busserine is a district of Marseille with a sulphurous image: the shootings and drug trafficking that take place there regularly make the headlines. But it's also, and above all, home to an inexhaustible spirit of resistance and solidarity.
Anne-Marie, Djamila, Yamina, Fadella and many other residents of this housing estate fight relentlessly against the difficulties: insecurity, the disappearance of public services, incivilities, unsanitary housing...
Faced with the public authorities' inadequate response to their many demands, they have chosen humor and derision to tell the story of their neighborhood and their struggles.
In front of the camera, they re-enact their everyday lives, using fiction to talk about their reality. A funny character guides the viewer through the twists and turns of their daily lives.
As the film progresses, new avenues of reflection emerge, providing a glimpse of the real causes of the decline of working-class neighborhoods.
